When can my baby eat cheese?

posted 5th Jan
My baby is 7 months, she has been eating solids for over a month now. She handles them really well but I've read different things when it comes to dairy. I read 6 months is fine then somewhere else 8-9 months then other places not till 12 months. Help if you know.

I heard no dairy until after a year. Occasionally I will give my son a bite on a slice of cheese.

My DH will share his ice cream with him sometimes. Still no issues. He's 6 weeks shy of a year though.

Yeah my husband has done that with her already. I just didn't know if bigger quantities would affect her.

We did mac 'n' cheese. If they are on a milk based formula then you know they can already tolerate milk...if not I would just do a bit and see how they do with it.

Yea I would too then. Both of my kids had to have broken down proteins when I quit bfing and we just did little amounts of dairy before they were one (like 2 tablespoons of mac 'n' chesse or whatever else) and that is all they could handle. A couldn't handle meat though until she was almost 14 months.

DD can't have any dairy because she is lactose intolerant but if she wasn't she would be getting bites of yogurt and icecream already (can't control the grandparents) Her pediatrician said to start introducing dairy back into my diet at 6 months and see how she tolerates it then at around 8-9 months if she seems to be out growing the lactose intolerance we are going to try giving her low lactose dairy products such as yogurt and cheese.

I know this is from awhile ago but my DD eats cheese on the reg. They make Mac and cheese baby food and what not, if it wasn't okay I'm sure that they wouldn't make it lol.

Also when DD was 6 months my doctor recommended giving her yogurt a few times a week because it is good for there digestive system. We give her the yo baby yogurt, its 6 months + right on the package.
