Rolling over and co-sleeping?

posted 5th Jan
When did your kid(s) roll over? DD was mildly delayed and didn't roll at all until 6-7 months. LO rolled over for the first time yesterday, back to belly. Now that she's figured it out she keeps rolling over. Only problem is, she can't roll belly to back yet so she just kind of lays there and gets pissed. She'll be 3 months old the 9th. I'm kind of afraid she's going to roll on her stomach in her sleep and smother. We co-sleep so I'm usually pretty aware when she moves but would she be safer in her crib/bassinet until she can roll belly to back? TIA ladies.

Maybe try swaddling her when shes sleeping so she cant use her limbs to roll herself?

My DD never tries to roll over in her sleep so I am lucky...I would be scared of that too though. Maybe you can kind of keep her close to you like with one arm under her head & one arm over her belly so she can't roll anywhere unsafe? My DD slept like that until recently. Now that is is almost a year old she likes to sleep on her own next to me which is fine & she doesn't roll anywhere crazy, luckily.

Rolling over at 6-7 months isn't mildly delayed, much less delayed just to let you know. We co-sleep too, and did with our oldest until she was two n' half years old. We just did it safely, she rolled over to different positions in her sleep and was just fine. Safely meaning we didn't have blankets, or pillows until she was older. Really when they can roll over most likely they won't smother as they will roll to different position if their nose/mouth is blocked.

According to her pedi she was delayed. She even saw a physical therapist for a while because it wasn't just the rolling, she was late to push herself up, sit on her own and crawl too. But regardless, thus far LO can't roll off her stomach and we do co-sleep safely.

She hates being swaddled and she breaks out.

Well just the rolling over part isn't delayed. I wasn't trying to be rude or anything. If you co-sleep safely then should be fine.
