Need info on resealing waters after early breaking(26 weeks)
posted 5th Jan
My water broke last night around 8. It leaked for a few hours and now hasn't at all for about 12 hours. Baby is breech so I know he's not plugging it. I'm extremely hopeful that its resealing. Anyway my midwife mentioned yesterday that there are things to help it including vitamin e. I got the vitamin e but idk how much to take and I can't find any info on it. Please help?

Can you call and ask? Are they monitoring you? I can't help, but I wish you the best of luck.

Maybe you have two bags? I did with my DD. The second didn't break until I started pushing. The first had completely drained itself a day or so before. The hospital had no idea.

I can't help, but can maybe offer some hope. I have a friend who was due in April 3 years ago. Her water broke and her baby was born on January 9. She had a relatively short nicu stay and is doing great now! I hope your's reseals though, I didn't know it could do that.

Can't really do anything but hope and monitor your temp and watch for contractions. Good luck. There's a girl on here whose water broke at 21 weeks and she made it to term

If you are in the hospital still someone should be able to order the amount of vitamin E you receive. You aren't really supposed to take something with out it being ordered.

I have no advice, but wanted to wish you the best!

My friend's water broke about three months early and she had to be on strict hospital bed rest and be constantly monitored for infection until she delivered at 37 weeks. Are you still in the hospital? Are they monitoring you for infections and checking baby's fluid levels? They should be able to order and provide you with as much vitamin e as you need to be helpful.

Yes I'm in the hospital and I have to stay here until I deliver. If I make it to 34 weeks they want to induce. They are giving me fuilds, antibiotics and steroids.
The only way I get to go home is if I reseal(which is rare but can happen).
My midwife is a home birth midwife therefore she doesn't work in a hospital. She said she would do research today and call me back with more info. I have the vitamin e just don't know how much to take and what else I can do and I'm impatient. I guess I will just wait to hear from her.

my.midwife had me on tons of vitamin c (2 packs a day.)when my water broke early. drink tons of water, cut back in caffeine o other things that can dehydrate you. it didn't tee seal but I still had natural birth at home. suspected leaking earlier in my pregnancy as well, went away for awhile with vitamin c intake.

Aww man I hope it reseals and you are able to get closer to term.
Someone from my DD group with my daughter had her son Jan 8. We were due in April, so same as you. I have a lot of hope that if you do deliver early things will work out. Ill be thinking of you!
