Would you...

Would you take your child(ren) to the park in 35 degree weather?

There's not much to do here as far as indoor activity places. DD has been begging to go to the park, but we haven't gone because it's so cold and I have a newborn. Now that it's the weekend and either DH or I could stay home with the baby, I'm considering taking her out.

Is it too cold, even if she's bundled? This is our first winter somewhere cold (we're from Southern California where it never gets really cold), so I have no idea if I should keep her in, or let her go out and run.

If you don't mind withstanding the cold then take her. There's no harm in it

I wouldn't be out for hours. How old is she?

We always just bundle the kids up and go. Layers are the best! Plus they run around and work up body heat anyway. We're in southern Canada, so if we didn't go play in the cold, we'd be inside for 6 months of the year! haha

You should be fine. The sunshine will do her good!

It is nice and sunny today! I feel bad she's been cooped up inside a lot since the baby was born a month ago. DH has taken her a few places but nothing like we used to.

Around here, 35 is a good day! But, yeah, I'd just dress her warmly in layers with a hat and gloves, and go out for maybe 30 mins or so. At daycare, they've been out in colder weather, though they wear their snow pants and snow boots as well, and probably do a 20 min break. Part of life in Minnesota
