How does it work? First thing you need to do is to get sorted. Please go to:
http://www.pottermore.com/
join and get sorted. Then come in here and tell us which house you are in. If you are not a member of pottermore and don't want to be one, then you will be randomly selected to be in whichever house needs more people.

Once we get a few people in each house, we will start trivia.
Trivia rules will be posted once we get the first sorting done.
Sorting will open regularly, so that members can join often.
Please keep in mind that this is an on-going long-term trivia thread, so please try to participate as much as possible and stay here for at least the 3-month section of the house cup.

What happens then?
(almost) every day, trivia will be posted in a separate thread (a new thread for each question) and you'll have to answer it. You'll get points if you are correct. There will also occasionally be bonus trivia or random trivia in the thread for points. The house with the most points on August 1st wins the house cup! Then points are re-set and we start again every 3 months.

If you are interested in doing part-time trivia (meaning you would post a question every now and then), let me know as well.

1. Don't use the internet (unless otherwise stated). All answers can and must be found in the HP books and movies (not including EC and bonus questions). If you are suspected of cheating, you could be expelled from the game and your house will also lose points.

2. To answer the question, send a PM to me. If you have any questions, either post them in this thread or send me a PM. DO NOT POST ANSWERS IN THIS THREAD!! (unless stated otherwise)

3. Your answer must include your NAME, your HOUSE, and WHERE you found your answer. If you used a book, list the book and page number (ex. CoS p22). If you used a movie, list the movie name and "movie". (ex. PoA movie) If you knew the answer from memory or are making a guess, write (memory) or (guess). If you do not include ALL of this info, your answer will not count.

I don't want to join Pottermore but have been sorted into Slytherin previously.

I can do PT trivia; I work FT so can't commit to posting trivia on a set day but try to answer every day

Most recently: MyHogwarts and the last HP trivia thread.
Otherwise: random sorting quizzes (after I got Slytherin the very first time since I never thought I belonged there but most of them put me there or Gryffindor)

I'm not 100% opposed to going where I'm needed, but I like being a Slytherin

I am really trying to understand the rules, but am *I* going to need to come up with trivia or just try to answer it?

ok I have you in the "to be sorted" list for now with preference for Slytherin. I would like to only use Pottermore sorting as much as possible for consistency, so if you decide to do the sorting test there before I get you officially sorted here, just let me know where you end up.

that's fine. I only need a handful of people to ask the questions. Most people will just be answering. =D
