Okay I just wanted to let you guys know my surgery yesterday went well. I'm about to start physical therapy   I hate that mess so much lol

Plan is that I'll leave the hospital Wednesday afternoon, and at that point I'll have access to my books again. As long as I'm not too loopy from pain meds I will jump back into trivia Thursday

Poor Mandi. I'm glad the surgery went well. Focus on getting better and if you need me to do trivia again, I'll suck it up and do it again.

Do his patients hate him at first?

I swear the PT is worse than the surgery

After my C section last year, I hated the nurse with a vengeance that refused to give me another morphine drip because I was getting my pic line out later that day anyway and handed me oral drugs even though I was TRYING to push the extra dose button because I needed instant pain relief right NOW not in an hour.   And THEN she made me get out of bed and walk to the bathroom with very minimal help even though I told her that I couldn't get out of bed on my own and that it hurt WAY too much.

I was in too much pain to complain and ask for a new nurse.

Oh you had a picc line? I've got one now. So much better than an iv. This is my second time to have one

I was like a freak of nature after my son was born though. Idk what my deal was but I was walking less than 12 hours after my section and didn't even take my pain meds.

I was like that with my son. But that was in 2006 and it was my first baby. I was a BEAST. I was like "Pain meds? What for? I'm fine. Watch me walk up and down my stairs at home all day long."

This time I was screaming at everyone not to touch me and to put the catheter back in because there was no way I was going to make it to the bathroom. Lol.

And yeah, after the C-section, they just attach your morphine drip to your epidural spot and if you run out, they're SUPPOSED to switch out the morphine box for another one until it's time to remove it if you need the pain meds the full time. With my first, I never pushed the extra dose button. With this one, I pushed it whenever I could. Getting old sucks.

It's basically the spot where your epidural was in your spine. They hook up a morphine drip straight into your spine after your surgery so that you don't have to wait for oral meds to kick in or for the meds to flow through your blood stream. Instant relief straight to your spine/nerves.

o ok. my epi wore off once i started pushing with DD. they said i'd still feel slight pressure with the epi. bull! i felt every bit of the 3 hrs of pushing! after they stitched me up i'm like "the catheter is out, right?" and they were like "yeah. why?" "because i have to pee" and went to get up. everyone in the room was like "NO NO! the epi." i just laughed "yeah, that smurf wore off a long time ago."

Yes with a spinal. If I did get it, they didn't tell me and there wasn't a button. They just brought me pills every four hours.
