starting to walk vent

posted 4th Jan
The baby is getting pretty good at walking. He started walking about 2.5 weeks ago. But we have a problem. When he was crawling he would dance a lot (bob his head shake his little baby booty) while he was crawling it was super cute. Now that he's walking he is bouncing and dancing while he is walking and he keeps falling and busting his face. He just bashed his face into the floor and has a bruise by his eye and on the opposite cheek is a bruise from our coffee table.

Our oldest never had any of this happen.... I feel like I need to bubble wrap the baby

I know that feeling. Katy is SOOO close to walking. She sprint across the house with her walker toy. Take the toy away and she just stands there looking at you then finally sits down.

Both of my kids fell constantly at first. It sucks. Especially when my son is tired, he will just repeatedly stand up and fall over and scream about it and repeat a million times. It is sad. He had two terrible bruises on his face from Christmas and a glass coffee table at my grandma's.

It looks like I'm beating him. I'm glad it's a normal thing... even though it really sucks...   His first bday party is on the 12th so I have a week to get the bruises healed and keep him bubble wrapped lol

Glass table tops are the devil. My stepkid busted himself bad almost broke his clavicle on one.

Seriously, I wanted to move it, but it's not my house and moving someone's table is psychotic, lol.

I hope he heals up quickly! But right before 1st birthdays is always when kids get terribly injured cuz they just sense they need to be presentable for pictures.

exactly. My boys are super rough. One turned 3 two days ago the other will be 1 on the 18th and they already wrestle so rough throwing each other around. I know it's only going to get worse   looks like I need to get good at picture retouching lol

haha yeah rearranging furniture does look a little looney.

My DD was constantly falling and bashing her face off things when she first started walking. She had awful bruises all over her face and it was embarrassing to take her anywhere cause it looked like we beat her up or something. The day of her 1st birthday she fell face first on a cement pad at the park and gave herself a nasty scratch/bruise down one side of her face. Her pictures from the party look awful!! After a couple months she finally learned to slow down, pick up her feet when she walked and her balance got better. She's 15 months now and rarely falls down anymore.

oh my goodness poor thing! did she scar at all?

My oldest was running when he was about 15m old and fell over a pillow onto combat boots   and busted his lip and ripped his gum open he still has a scar on his lip.

Omg...my kids are always wrestling too, they are 3 and 10 months. They're crazy. Their favorite game consists of my daughter climbing into the pack and play, my son standing outside with his hands on the mesh, and she shoves his hands as hard as she can, he flies back, lands on his butt, they both laugh hysterically, repeat.

It gives me a heart attack.

completely understand. My oldest likes to grab the baby by the waist and throw him over and they do a somersault together. I cringe each time.
