Bad idea?

I have been on effexor for a little over a month now and I've realized it's giving me really bad insomnia. Hardcore sleeping pills don't even really help. I want to try to start taking it in the morning instead of right before bed. It seems to be doing the trick so I don't want to stop taking it. Can I just skip taking it tonight and take it right away in the morning do you think? I know effexor is notorious for causing bad withdrawals so I don't want to cause any issues, but I keep forgetting to take it a little earlier and slowly move it to the morning.

No I would just skip it tonight and do it in the AM. You might feel a little out of it for a couple days, but it will go away.

I was on Effexor for years. I would talk to your doctor first. I had to take seroquel xr along with my Effexor to completely combat my dysthamic disorder and my insomnia. I would take Effexor in the AM and the seroquel xr at night. The seroquel knocked me out within half an hour of taking it.

Effexor is such a touchy strong drug I would for sure talk to your doctor first.

omg i took effexor as a teen and i have vivid nightmares and started cutting myself so they took me off of it and i was fine when they put me on welbutrin and the effexor did the same thing to my hubby and his grandma but my mom is on it and she is fine with it but i think you should consult your doc and tell him about it and have them take you off of it and switch you to something else

Your doctor is probably going to tell you to start slowly taking it earlier. That is what they had me do when i switched the timing of mine to adjust for taking the seroquel Xr.

anti depressants are weird for some ppl they do horrible things to and others work perfect, lol and sry misread your post i apologize glad to hear its working for you tho and im sure the doc will do the morning i cant remember when i took mine i believe it was before bed as well
