going out to dinner on a diet

What do u get when u go out to dinner when on a diet. I know even salads have a lot of calories when all the extras and dressing they add.... I'm going to not your average joes tmrw with dh and his family ... ugh I don't wNna be the fat girl who gets a salad ...

Most restaurants have diet conscious choices on their menus now. Look and see if you can find a menu online so you know ahead what you can have.

Any sort of lean meat, with side dishes.
I usually get a steak, and substitute the potato side dish for extra veggies.

Look up the menu online, before you go or on your phone while you are there. Find the best option with the least calories, or carbs, fats, whatever you count and whats important to you.

Most menus have the healthier choices marked. You could do a stripped-down salad (no bacon, eggs, cheese, etc. on it), or chicken breast with steamed veggies. Even a small steak with steamed veggies is a good choice. Just avoid grain or potato sides, mainly because you never know what unhealthiness they put in them.
