Blood when I blew my nose *vent*

Freaking fabulous! not!! I am getting over what I believe to be the flu (my sister has the flu, my friend her family have had the flu the past few weeks, have been around them all recently. I have been flat on my back sick for a week. Tonight for the first time in days I have felt well enough to not take more cold medicine when I'm due for more. I have a rough dry cough and when I blew my nose it was blood instead of mucus. Bright red and smeary. Not enough for a nose bleed or to soak the tissue. Sinus infection? This sucks. :/ I just want to feel better. All my nieces and nephews and my son went through this bout of sickness with just fevers for 3 days, except my 5 month old nephew who has the flu. My SO is alot less sick than I am but had the same symptoms. Sigh.

That happens to me when my nose is really dry. It sucks

You've been blowing your nose a lot, yes? You've probably busted capillaries in it plus your nose is likely dry from the cold medicine.

That's probable. I kind of had an idea of what it was but was curious if that was a sign of a sinus infection as that can actually be treated. I felt like whining too. This sucks. So. Bad.

Yup, blowing it a lot, and cold/flu meds dry you out. If you have a humidifier set that bad boy up. I wouldn't worry too much about it though. Mine does that like every damn day lol
