Melatonin

posted 4th Jan
Have any of you ladies ever taken this before? I have been having trouble sleeping lately so I bought some today. Does it work good?

Sometimes it works for me. I take 10mg's now, because the 5's no longer do anything.

I have 3mg ones should I just take one to see how it affects me? Also do you feel super tired in the morning?

I have and although it would help me fall asleep, I would not stay asleep. I also stopped taking it because it gave me horrible heartburn.

Definitely take one. It may take longer than the 20 minutes it says to work. Sometimes it can take me a few hours. No, I don't.

My son takes 5mg. I've taken it before and it worked well, doesn't make me feel super tired and gross the next morning either.

It doesn't make you tired in the morning, it's a hormone you naturally produce when it's dark. All the lights we live with can interrupt our cycle of producing melatonin, so taking some for a while can be helpful to naturally reset your sleep cycle. Just take one, see if it helps. If it doesn't, try two the next night. You want to use as little as possible to get the desired effect.
I've used it when I quit smoking pot. Marijuana hyperstimulates melatonin production (which is why you get burnt out), so when I quit after smoking every day for eight years, it was like my body needed help remembering to produce melatonin by itself. Stopped taking it after a couple of weeks and have slept fine since.
Also, I would take anything Dr. Oz says with a grain of salt. Or a whole handful.

Thanks momma. Yeah I do not take anything Dr. Oz says to heart. My MIL watches him religiously and now thinks she will feel like "making love" after eating watermelon. I have eaten plenty of Watermelon in my life and it in no way shape or form turns me on.

If it works for you that's great! It's natural as its a hormone naturally produced in our bodies. It didnt work for me. It only works if you're lackin that hormone
