throwing up after almost every bottle

posted 4th Jan
her pedi is away till the 14th, im planning to take her to the clinic tomorrow morning since it isnt stopping.

for about a week now my 6 months old has been throwing up after almost every bottle, we havent changed anything she eats shes been on the same formula and we havent given solids in almost 2 weeks because she started with a cold on the 27th and has been throwing up since.

any ideas what we could try to help her ?

Maybe try a bit of soy formula just to see if that works better for her? Usually that's caused by an allergy or bad reflux

an it be that she still may have some of the symptoms of the cold. I know when they young this could mean acid reflux which this is what my baby had. I hope your baby gets better soon.

Maybe it is too much formula? A burp? I know with my baby if he isn't burped during and after every feeding he would puke up everything he ate. He will be 6 months on the 18th and it isn't as bad but he still has huge burps and multiple burps after eating.

Could be reflux from the cold
Could be just plain reflux
Could be an intolerance to something

i dont think its the formula because she has never had a problem on it since she was born. she is a little flemmy and coughing is it possible the flem is making her gag which is making her vomit ?

she gets two burps per feeding and is drinking 2 ounces less than normal because of the vomiting

Is she congested from the cold? Both my boys just got over colds and the baby threw up a few times from all the mucus that went down his throat. We started leaving him in the steamy bathroom when we showered and that helped a bit.

That is what it seemed like with my baby boy but I guess it was a lot more than just that because he would cough to the point of gagging and then out came his meal and a lot of mucus with it.

dd was doing that with the first bottle of the morning everyday and a couple threw out the day. she was sick so a little cough would trigger her sensitive gag reflex and she would puke... everywhere.

thats how it seems usually early in the morning and later at night it happens, always before bed

Yeh if she has congestion or something then dairy based formulas would extend that, milk increases mucus production big time.

If I were you, I'd buy a small container or low-lactose or soy formula and see what happens. Just to be sure it isn't an intolerance.
Hope she's feeling better soon!
