might sound stupid but

how long do contractions last?! What I explained to my doctor today was what I thought just the baby are contractions. I'm just having light period like cramps and my tummy gets super tight for what seems ever. They get longer and stronger at night but by time I wake up from going to bed they are gone until the afternoon. Nothing to go to L&D for. I set my induction date for the 15th, she honestly thinks I'll go before BUT she doesn't want me to go to my due date because I have hypertension.

Those are light contractions. How long do the cramps last? Contractions usually last about 10 seconds or so... least they did with my son.

Each contraction usually lasts about 45 seconds to a minute. They don't get "longer" after time even when your in labor, they just get more painful. Thank God for that cause you only have to deal with it for like a minute then you get a break, now the breaks get shorter and shorter the further you progress which makes it harder too. But hope that answers your question! Good luck mommy!

I had contractions for weeks lasting 30-45 sec each. In active labor they were 90sec plus long coming every 2 mins.

about a minute or so. Seems like forever. I got up to get something out of the kitchen and my stomach was as hard as a basketball feels when you stick it under your shirt. Not to mention when I set down a certain way I have a ton of pressure.

You're due on the day my son was born last year

But everyone is different. Once my contractions started, I would have about 3 right off the bat that lasted a minute or two, then it was one biggggggg straight contraction with a few seconds rest now and then till my babies were born, but I had very fast labors.

my boys will be 3 years and a month apart! How weird lol.
With my first the contractions just kept me up all night, I honestly didn't know that I was having them. My tummy never got hard like everyone said it would. This time it stays hard while I have light cramps. When I get up and move around they get more and more but my doctor doesn't want me on my feel all that much because of my hypertension so I'm being a good girl lol. Plus labor with my first went by pretty fast for it being my first.
I bet your little boy is adorable!
