Gay Child?

So I was on FB for a second and someone posted this:



Don't get me wrong, I'd feel the same way if someone wanted to crush my LO's spirit too, but can a seven year old really KNOW they're gay? I mean, at that age I would think that I'd confuse "gay" for just really liking my friends...but not being attracted to them sexually. Right? Or What....?

I knew when I was about that age. Maybe a year older. I'd go home and think about seeing this particular girl at school, naked. She developed really fast and I was very infatuated with her   But I told myself it wasn't right, so I didn't come out until I was in 7th grade. I knew I was attracted to her, though.

But I don't think the kid understands AT ALL. Not that early.

A lot of gay people say they knew they were since they were little..... But I doubt he has explored anything, so Idk how he would completely know.

This, too. Kids recognize at a young age who is 'cute'. My sister was in like 1st grade and would come home saying she had 3 boyfriends   Clearly if straight kids can tell they like the opposite sex.... gay kids can tell they like the same sex.

Nope. My brother Joey was born gay. According to my Grandma she first suspected it when he was 2 years old. I dont remember not knowing he is gay. My Mom was in denial, and still is sometimes, but everyone else knew.

See, I remember being like that too around 4th grade or so. This girl I use to know was gorgeous. I'd always try to sneak a look at her, but I'm older now and I'm pretty sure I'm straight, but I can admit when I find a woman very attractive.

I actually had a conversation about this with my gay bff not too long ago.. He says he knew from around that age.. Or at least had an idea that he knew!

I wish I could remember where I read an article but it basically said a child's has the ability to know if they are gay starting at the age of 3. Don't know about 3 but I definitely believe a 7 year old can know if they are gay or not

I'm sure it's different for everyone. My one friend knew he liked boys in kindergarten, chasing other little boys around on the playground.

My other friend never thought about it until adolescence.

Mmm...I didn't try to kiss anyone.

I hated kids,lol.

Maybe he thinks being hipster means you have to be gay lol
but like everyone else said usually people know from really early on, but arent really place it yet.

I knew I wasnt attracted to just men in grade school. My first crush was one of my female teachers. I believe its entirely possible to know at that age but most of us are too scared to come out with it or they think they're confused.

I think it's possible
I mean a lot of transgendered kids know from very early on that they're supposed to be the opposite sex so I think they can know
