birthday but no party...

Tomorrow my oldest child is turning 5! wow crazyness. anyway since we just had her brothers BDay and christmas and all this and some family is gone out of town we are going to throw her actual party in a month, at the beginning of feb.
so tomorrow my grandma who just got back into town is coming over and bringing some carne adavado. she is also bringing over my aunt and her daughter. i was just gonna bake a cake and get her a gift or 2 open.
i feel bad, like i should do something else! but i wanted people to actually be able to come to her party since NO ONE ever comes to my kids birthdays except family. so its always lame.and i want a good party for her 5th birthday ya know?
what would you do?

I kinda feel the same. My daughters bday was Dec 26th and we had a small cake and a couple presents. But her party isn't until Jan 8th. I've always had my sons parties on his birthday but if I did that for her no one would come because its the day after Christmas.

yeah my son was born on christmas eve so we threw his on the 15th.,. : ) the holidays make it hard!

I think it sounds perfect and gives people a little room to breath from Christmas as well. Happy Birthday to your little girl!

We had Sawyer's 3rd birthday scheduled for Jan 12th (his bday is the 8th) but we leave on the 9th for San Diego for our grandma's funeral and the kids are staying here with my mom. We wont have his party until the 19th. We will just do a cake on his actual birthday. I feel bad too but nothing I can do about it.

Yeah I'm pretty sure. We haven't been yet but heard it's fun.

Im waiting to have my sons 7th birthday till the 12th...his actual bd was on the 29th of dec...it was his choice tho...he wanted to wait till school started back so he could invite some friends. His birthday is during christmas break so it always only family at his..but this yr I gave him the choice and he wanted to wait so thats what we r doing. On his actual bd we just stayed home and he picked what we had for dinner and he played with all the stuff he got for christmas...worked for him so it worked for me!!

My gfs daughter turns 7 in 2 weeks and she asked if she can just have a few small activities with a friend or two but not have a party till summer time cause she wants to do something outdoors and always has terrible weather for her birthday. and we all said thats more then fine, its her party and we'll do whatever she wants when she wants. They deserve to have something special for their bdays, even if it means moving it.

My daughter won't have a party for hr first bday which sucks but I have no friends & no family besides my mom & sister here...sucks but whatever. I will get her a little cake and a few presents. I really wanted to do a nice big bday party for her but that won't happen.
