THEY SUCK!

posted 4th Jan
My doctor sucks. All of them do in this town and the hospital is even worse.
I went in for chest pain (going on 2 weeks) and shortness of breath (going on for a month) and he told me he didn't know. They did a chest xray a few months ago for other reasons. I recently found out I have some kidney scarring so of course he just tells me that must be what's causing me all this pain. I just don't feel right about that. Kidney scarring causing me shortness of breath, dizziness, headaches, nausea, and chest pain and pressure?
I was going to go to the walk-in clinic half hour away because it saves me the ER cost, but they said they don't treat chest pain and I'd go straight to the ER. I don't feel as if this is life threatening as it's been going on for awhile now... I guess I just don't know..?

Actually it can cause all that. It's called referred pain. I had some trouble with my liver a few years back, it was swelled. I went to the ER for intense shoulder pain, heavy pressure, shortness of breath and dizzyness. An MRI showed how big my liver was from an infection of unknown sources. The referred pain in my shoulder was causing me to take small shallow breaths which ended up partially collapsed my lung causing the short breath and dizziness. There wasn't much they could do except give me pain meds and a breathing machine to blow my lung back out. I still get the shoulder pain from time to time.

Ugh. I haven't met with my urologist about it yet except for over the phone (appt the 28th), but both of them told me I shouldn't be having pain unless my kidney has completely failed, and as of my last tests it hasn't failed 100% yet... so I don't know. Worth an ER trip or no?

I'd probably wait it out unless the pain gets unbearable. My referred pain was the worst pain I've felt in my entire life.
