Tylenol & Motrin.

How many hours between taking one can you take the other one? So say I take Motrin, how long after can I take Tylenol? Anyone know?

They work differently so it doesn't matter as long as pure following each meds directions for how long between doses.

I'd wait at least 4 hours between doses, and don't exceed more than 3000 mg of acetaminophen per day.

How much Motrin can I take at a time? What is the max dose? I know the 3000mg rule so I never exceed that. I usually take 1000mg each dose of Tylenol.

I don't know that there is a max dose for Motrin. Just follow the directions on the bottle.

I keep trying to alternate and this smurfing headache won't go away. Maybe the Motrin is ineffective since I have been taking it every day 3 times a day for like months.....

Yeah u probably shouldn't take it that long continuously.

I don't alternate when I get Abbas headache because I know it's not gonna be long term but rather a one day or one to two dose thing. If I can knock it out it's usually ok. But taking little amts all day usually don't do smurf.

Have u tried caffeine and water?

Technically I shouldn't be taking Motrin at all because of my bleeding disorder but I have no other choice because tylenol doesn't do much & it usually cuts my headaches a little bit but for the last two days, it doesn't help my headaches anymore so maybe I need to up the dose? I take about 600mg of motrin each dose. My mom told me to alternate the 2 and maybe it will help better but I see no change :\

How much Tylenol do u take? I usually do extra strength so that's 1000 mg. then I like to use a Motrin 800. I have to seriously kick my headaches ass or it just never stops. (obviously this is not when im preg haha).

I take 1000mg of Tylenol. I have had persistent every day headaches for the past 4 months. I have started getting other issues with it as well, that seem to be getting worse...idk wtf is going on.

When I was in the hospital I'd get one every 4 hours and one every 6 so every 12 hours I'd get a dose together.

I need to try that. Ugh seriously...my head is smurfing pounding. I took some Motrin not long ago. I want to take more Tylenol but, idk how long ago I took it though :| I don't want to be one of the dumb asses who accidentally overdoses or some smurf lol.

Maybe you need to get migraine meds. I had bad headaches daily when I was on Nuva ring and after 8 days straight it got so bad I thought I was having an aneurysm. So I went to the er and they had me imitrex and I felt a burning sensation go through my brain and it felt like a vice squeezing inside and then within a 1/2 hr it was miraculously gone. Poof. So maybe u need something like that. I never thought it was a real migraine. And I could tell the diff cause if I thought I had one and took the imitrex I either got relief in 1/2 ht with that burning pain or I did get the pain or the relief.
