I grew up around the prison system. I have no sympathy. I know what goes on on the inside.

I believe in it whole heartedly, so much so I believe in the Texas version. You kill someone we kill you back and there is no waiting on deathrow for 20 years you move to the front of the line. As soon as your appeals are done or if you choose to not file them you are fried and laid to the side... I don't care how much it costs honestly. I will gladly pay for them to die rather than sit in a damn cell with cable, getting a college degree, earning privlages that they don't deserve all because they are now a model inmate at the local prison.

I work in the field of criminals and let me tell you the majority of them don't feel bad about what they did. They feel bad that they got caught and are sitting in that cell if they were walking the streets and never got caught they wouldn't think twice about it except to brag about that "thing" they killed that one time. I could debate this like you all have however duty and criminals call so time to get back to work.

Yeah it did. The guy was on my dad's unit and I guess he got his face sliced up. My dad goes, "It doesn't matter that his face isn't pretty any more, no one will look at it. They'll just grab his ears from behind for leverage."

Hahahahhah! That's awesome! If I remember right, he killed some family members and took two children (Dylan and Shasta)? He molested/raped them, right? I was a teenager and didn't watch much of the news then, but I remember this story sticking out to me.

I dont know how your dad stomach's it. I couldnt be around all those evil people all the time. That has to weigh on you, seeing them and knowing all the horrific things they did.

Yeah he murdered an older sibling, mother and step dad in front of them. Then kidnapped them, then eventually killed Dylan in front of her after a while and kept her as a sex toy. Someone spotted her in a Denny's in northern Idaho with him and called the cops.

It's turned my brother slightly psycho. He accused my husband of molesting my niece because she started her period because he assumes everyone is a rapist now. My dad couldn't even change his kid's diapers when they were little because the stupid smurf my brother accuses. My dad is retired now but he moved up the ranks pretty quick so he didn't deal with the inmates unless they got into trouble. He's 5'7" and when he walked onto the block, murderers would cower and apologize before they even knew what he was there for. He has a very commanding personality. We may be little but we're very intimidating lol. My mom's old boss was scared to be alone in a room with me because I'm like my dad with my intimidation lol

Eek. I can only imagine. My mom used to watch Lifetime movies when I was growing up. Lifetime goes through phases where they play tons of different movies about certain topics. During my childhood, it was all about molestation and rapes. I was petrified between the movies, the news and the things my parents and friend's parents were saying about it. I ended up having some issues because of it that I'm still dealing with.

It is costly for our country. With all of the forced appeals and paperwork it's not cost effective.

Out of curiosity... anyone know statistics on how much it costs to house an inmate for life, including meals, healthcare, electricity, water, and personal hygeine stuff?

Is it less than appeals and whatnot?
