Thrush in 1 mth old

I'm certain my 1 month old has thrush as well as my boobies. I was wondering if any mommies have tried the genetian violet or the baking soda successfully for home remedy. I can't get either of us seen until next Wednesday and really want to avoid a huge co-pay at a walk in. If so do you know the best way to do it? And opinions on this one?

I'd just pay the co-pay...once they've seen it and diagnosed it once, they will usually just call in the nystatin after that...and unfortunately, yeah, it is something that tends to come back.

You can dap probiotic yogurt on it, or tea tree oil, dilute 1-2 drops of the tree oil and use a q-tip to dap it on, as well as nipples. I know a few ppl who had success with both remedies.

I am a huge GV supporter. Nystatin sucks ass. Has the yeast spread into your ducts? If it has u NEED Fluconazole immediately. But if I hasn't get the GV today and start it.

Apply with a qtip. You dont need a ton. It stains bad. Rub on nips and let air dry. Don't wear a nice bra or put in disposable nursing pads. Apply 1-2 times a day.

Rub around baby's mouth with a qtip. To avoid lip staining u can put Vaseline around the lips but it's hard. I just dealt with the blueberry lips   I thought it was cute haha. Apply once in the am and once in the pm. DDs went away after 2 apps but you can go 3 days. If it doesn't go away then I would see the doctor for nystatin. Follow the nystatin course. If its still not gone do GV again for 3 days.

If u don't knock it out NOW it will spread up into your ducts and can really get your Bfing relationship. It's awful and painful and you'll dread every feeding.

Thanks. My nipple just started hurting bad 2 days ago but I thought it was normal till today his mouth has the white on everything. I can tell you the pain in my nipples sucks! Omg it's like searing needles coming out when he latches. I almost have him a bottle. How can I tell if its in my ducts?

OMG I feel horrible for the both of you! I can't imagine that kind of pain.

Don't give up mama. Go get the GV and you'll feel relief fast.

If its in your ducts it'll hurt inside and shoot up inside your breasts. Try to catch it immediately. Like seriously immediately. Once it's inside it era worse pain and there's no relief. U would need meds fast to clear it up. How soon can u get to te store?

Should be able to. Idk all the places that carry it but it's usually behind the pharmacy counter. U just have to ask

Good luck mama. I hope it doesn't spread. But push through and don't give up Bfing. Remember it's temporary and can be fixed. Don't let it ruin your ding relationship. I had it early too. I didn't know what it was. I was finally diagnosed at my 6 wk pp visit. I'm almost certain it's from the antibiotics I had during labor for gbs. So i probably had it a loooong time. But I figured it was supposed to feel that way. Until it kept getting worse and worse.

I was induced early so the gave me the antibiotic for the gbs even though I didn't have it. I was wonder why nursing hurt so fricken bad. I never had sore anything with my others I bf. I can't wait for my hubby to get home! Lol
