re: Skinny girl diet

posted 4th Jan
After looking it up all I can say is DON'T DO IT! All of these fad diets just throw your body out of whack and put you into starvation mode. When you aren't getting an adequate amount of calories a day, your body will start breaking down fat stores for energy. Those fat stores can come from anywhere and once the caloric need isn't being met by your fat stores, your body will literally start breaking down your organs.

The best way to lose weight is to maintain a healthy diet with appropriate portion sizing and getting an adequate amount of exercise. Taking a short cut is only going to lead to yo-yo dieting and a constant fluctuation in not only your weight but your overall health.

yeah just googled it and.... NO!
Don't do it! You're better off upping your fruits and veggies, cutting out carbs and eating a good amount of protein(meat)!
That and excerice is what I swear by. I lost almost 50lbs in three months the last time I did that!

ETA: I wasn't exercising till after I lost the 50lbs, that weight loss was all just eating healthy. I was 184lbs and got down to 140lbs

Fad diets will not keep weight off. Loosing weight should take time. Eat healthy and exercise. Its not that hard...

Because you're going to starve and slowly kill your body trying to survive on 400 calories a day. Healthy diet and moderate exercise is the best way to get the weight off and keep it off.

It is sooooo unhealthy. Look it up and educate yourself on how many calories you need to consume daily. Cut out junk food, bread, soda, pasta, potatoes...add more veggies, fruits, and meats. It will help more than you know.

I just looked it up, and the whole "idea" behind this is that 400 cals is the LOWEST in take a body can have and still manage to survive. However, it's said that you must eat 4 times a day in order to survive. Good luck eating 4-100 calorie packs per day. Oh and it also says that your body could potentially make you gain weight after a certain period of time has passed, even with eating 400 cals/day. That's also not taking into account any exercise whatsoever. I just think the whole thing sounds like crap. If you want to lose weight, just workout and eat healthy. Eat the RIGHT amount of calories, don't practically starve yourself. Trust me, it's gross and this is coming from someone who had an eating disorder for years.

Dude, I eat 400 cals as a snack. 400 cals a day is pathetic and unhealthy. You need to eat to lose weight properly. You just have to make better choices. Eating twinkies is going to get you no where.

It's not that it's hard.. I have no patience with myself for some reason, I feel like I've been fat for too long and the weight won't come off fast enough.

Because you need a minimum number os calories to simply exist

Go to myfitnesspal.com

Figure out your BMR.

the majority of people need a minimum of 1200 cals a day just to survive

If you eat too little, your body holds onto everything as fat. And it can begin to turn muscle into fuel (which you DON'T want)

Not to mention the damage that can do to your organs

Look up how ot be healthy, instead of how to be skinny

You should be eating 400 calories PER MEAL. Not PER DAY. That's horrible!

Patience is a virtue. Hard work and patience pay off. I've never had a weight problem before but my goodness...I'd rather be fat than starve myself.

You need to eat more than 400 calories. You will just smurf up your metabolism by putting your body into starvation mode. It takes forever to regulate again and makes losing/maintaining weight almost impossible.
