Smiling

posted 4th Jan
When did your LO start smiling? And I don't mean in their sleep.
I've read that smiling in infants have nothing to do with gas. I was talking to DD who is 4 weeks tomorrow & she smiled at me. She's done it a few times if I'm talking to her. Just curious to see what you all think or when your LO started? I can't be bothered to dig our DD1's baby book right now to see when she started lol

My son has been smiling since he was a week old, he giggles too. Kind of. I mean, not like laughs but a little hehehe here & there. Lol. He is 3 weeks & 4 days old. He smiles a lot while BF & when I talk to him. I hear they are involuntary, but it just seems like he does it at the perfect moments.

Mine pretty much came out of the womb smiling. Doctor tried telling me it was gas smiles at her 1 week, until he was checking her hips and I was talking to her, then she smiled really big. He goes, wow...that was a social smile!

Yeah doc, I know.

Mine is 3 weeks and has been giving me little smirks for the past week or so when I talk to her...DH kept telling me she was smiling and I didn't believe him. I told him it was just gas until I saw it for myself. They're not full smiles but you can definitely tell she's happy and it's always in response to one of us talking to/smiling at her.

I've got pictures of DD smiling at 10 hours old and they are when i was talking to her... everyone keeps saying "oh it's gas, she's not actually smiling" but she is sooo aware of everything even at just over 3 weeks old! we blow raspberries on her face and she smiles at us and puts her hands to her face like "oooh leave me alone you guys" haha so cute!
