It is important but it took awhile until my DS liked it. We did a minute or two a few times a day and worked our way up. I have heard that it is important to muscle development in their neck and back.

I, personally, would get a new doctor. We love our pediatrician because she actually researches, and listens to us. She may not always agree, but she is professional enough to agree to disagree.

For tummy time, our oldest hated it until she was six months old. What I would do is put her on my chest while laying down. Also just holding them against you as you walk around works those same neck muscles.

have you tried laying your LO on your chest while you lay down/back so they're still working out those neck muscles and whatnot?

i wouldn't be letting my daughter do it to the point of puking. i wouldn't even let my 6 year old cry until she puked, let alone a baby.

I mean in the end its your desion. But its true. They do need to learn to like it. It is important for them.
I dont think puking we would be ok, but crying and getting red in face, sure why not?

Try elivated tummy time first, lay lo on something slanted first, like a harder based pillow, almost like a ramp, but not as slanted...kwim? See if it makes a difference, then after every so often, lower the slant on it (a few days etc...) till flat on floor.

We just do it on our chest. Just cause its easier than putting him on the floor and we don't always have a ton of floor space in the living room. (Bf moves furniture around so he can game easier.)

We don't have issues this way. Maybe try that. She may like that more, especially since then she's close to you and she'll be warm and comfortable.

Go with your gut then, I would never just walk away from screaming baby just to get in tummy time. Some babies just need to be older before they will do it that is fine.

Actually 13 months isn't delayed walking. Babies can go up to 18 months before not walking is a concern.
