How soon did you return to the gym after the birth of your baby?

Watching. I'm 4 weeks PP (c section) and ready to get back to the gym. I was told to wait 6 weeks.

would talk to your doctor. I did very light exercises around 3 months postpartum, but I had second degree tear. Healing after birth has always been slow going for me. I know that babyfit.com has free exercises for postpartum.

I'm 4 months PP and haven't even thought about a gym.

I would rather spend time with my LO then worry about how I look for now. They grow up too fast!

I'm trying not to take what you said the wrong way but I never mentioned in the OP that I cared more about how I look than my children. I don't care about how I look, I care about how I feel. There's a difference. I guess I should have added that in the OP.

Thanks ladies for your responses. I remember when I had DD that I didn't want to go anywhere for at least the first 12 weeks PP. I just wanted to see what other moms did.

I really didn't mean to make it sound that way! All apologies.

Working out just isn't on my agenda, I don't know where I could find the time or energy!

I did ask my doctor about it before having baby. He said as a general rule is 6 weeks, start lightly though. Like brisk walking. And work your way up to more vigorous activities. Don't try to go into your exercise routine before you were pregnant right away. It's like you are a beginner who is just entering the exercise world again.

Good luck! Sorry for the way I worded that!

I don't think taking an hour out of your day, while the baby is sleeping, is that big of a deal. Some moms have to go back to work 8+ hours a day.

I have a treadmill at home and at 4 weeks pp I started walking on it for bout an hour once I completely stopped bleeding that is. On Monday it will be 6 weeks pp I have been jogging for the past four days. I gained a ton of weight however and im just miserable..I just find time to do it while he is sleeping. Doc said 6 weeks but I felt good enough to get a lil active..hell I know of ppl having sex two weeks pp(NOT MEE too dang sore!) and they are fine so I figured walking and jogging was not going to hurt me
