I wish we could agree on more.

They are okay, but when I see Cordelia, I think of the show Buffy. Dahlia makes me think of the murder.

Yeah I forgot a neither option.
Lol I think of that show too but I know I would get over it because I like the name.
& yeah, I feel like my SO needs to get over the name Dahlia, it makes me think of that too.

I chose Cordelia. Dahlia is morbid to me.

I think they are both pretty, I do think of the Black Dahlia when I hear that too, but it still sounds pretty. We are naming our baby girl Swayze and OF COURSE everyone thinks of Patrick Swayze (which is so not the reason we chose the name lol) - Everyone is going to have something to say or think about it, Which one do you like the best?

That's true but I think if someone where to think of a murder.. thats not so good. Thinking of other people or tv shows I think is okay. I like Cordelia :] I would call her Corey for short and I think that is SO cute for a nick name for a girl since her full name is obviously a girls name

That's true too. But those murders happened forever ago, and by the time she is old enough I bet few people will be so privy to the murders. But I agree, it is a negative to have a name that automatically generates ideas of murders. And Corey or Cori for short is super cute as well. Cordelia is very pretty as well and it's not a common name (which is an excellent thing if you ask me.) What middle names do you have?

The girl who was murdered was not even named Dahlia, I think the media just called it the Black Dahlia Murder..
No middle names yet, we just were told yesterday that it's most likely a girl. I go back next week to confirm. I don't want to plan a whole name out just yet :]

You must be one of those normal people who actually have a little thing I like to call "patience". I, on the other hand, have had ENTIRE baby names (notebooks full lol) since I was like 17 years old. (how pathetic!) I think you should not worry what others will think, and just go with the one you like the best, regardless of what other people will think. Afterall, YOU are the one who will have to hear/say the name everyday, they won't.

Heck no I do not have patience! I paid for a dang elective ultrasound to see the gender! That's impatient when I could have waited until my insurance covered it but OH WELL! I don't even really like Dahlia, I just was SO to be happy :/

Oh! Lol - well then we have something in common, I have 0 patience when it came to finding out. We had a gender revealing party planned, I couldn't hold out, I had to know at the ultrasound haha!- Yeah, they like be included (even though they don't have to do any of the work! ;) ) Well You have to be happy too, so maybe you pick the first and he can pick the middle name?

Oh no! Does he just HATE Cordelia? Or does he just 'prefer' Dahlia? Are you both pretty set on JUST those two names? Maybe you two could just start from scratch and hopefully you'll find one you both love? If it were me, I think I would either keep searching for a name that we both just fell in love with, or I'd try to come up with a full name for both so you can toss them both around and see which sounds better, maybe your favorite name will grow on him, or his on you. Man, who knew naming babies could be so hectic! I guess I got lucky, my husband and I usually disagree just to disagree (lol) but he has been no help naming this baby, we both love all the names I've come up with. But Swayze is just one we've tossed around for a very long time and just always enjoy hearing.
