I hope this is in the right forum, but on to the point. I just found out today that I am officially having a boy. I don't think i want to circumcise because its a cosmetic procedure. I am not a guy and don't have any males to talk about it with. Some people say uncircumcised males feel self conscious as children and teens. I will try to parent my child in a way that they are comfortable enough in their own body, but I don't want him to grow up and say Why didn't you just do it when i was born. On the flip side i wouldn't want him to think that i would inflict pain on him for purely cosmetic reasons. Upon researching the subject I found their is slight medical advantages but with proper hygiene both choices are equivalent.

I have a boy hes almost 3. I regret circumcising him i just feel like it was dumb and unnecessary. If i have another boy i wont be circumcising him.

You'll probably get a lot of responses to this, people are very passionate about this subject. All I can say is do as much research as possible and only you guys can make the best decision for your baby.

I'm having a boy and hubby and I have already decided not to cut him. our reason is its not necessary so why put him through that pain even briefly. we haven't mentioned it to family mainly bc they're old fashioned and we don't wanna hear it if they haven't/won't do research. *watching* I think long as you pick a decision you're comfortable with, you can't go wrong.

Circumcised boys are now in the minority if I'm not mistaken, so I doubt he'd get made fun of that much or anything. I circ'd mine back when I didn't know anything about it but any future boys of mine will not be.

You can always take skin off but you can't put it on.

This. At least if in the future he wishes to get circumcised then he will have the option and it will be his choice (if you don't circumcise).

I decided not to. I don't understand why if he was born that way would I change him.
I also tried to watch a video on a baby getting circumcised to get both sides, after almost throwing up I had to shut it off because I couldn't stand it.

I have two circed and one uncirced. I really regret having my older sons done, and if I think about it I beat myself up a lot over it.

I think times have changed and its more common not to cut. Agree w AP doubt hell get teased for it.

Plus i guess the more skin makes sex feel better. Not that anyone wants to think about their sons like that but yeah. Sorry guys!

I thought so too but this guy made some thing to help pull the skin n stretch it a lil at a time every day? Or week? interesting episode. I think he circ'd later in life n hated it so he "grew" it back n was patenting his device to help others.
