im a couple days from being 38 weeks.. this is my first pregnancy. I went to the hospital with contractions 2 min apart last night, when I got there i was 1 cm Dilated 70 % effaced. a few hours later I was 3.5 cm and still 70 % they sent me home a few hours later because I stopped progressing.. still contracting but there not as hard , still pretty regular though.
have any of you been through this?
how long did it take for you to go into actual labor?
any suggestions to get this ball rolling again?

I know some people that has happened to. You can be in early labor for a couple of weeks before it really hits. Walk, bounce on a ball, have sex do whatever lol.

Go for a long walk and if you have an exercise ball bounce on it while watching tv. I'd try to get a good nights sleep and a good meal in you first though while you still have the chance.

This is likely "real labor" - but "real labor" isn't always a clean cut thing - you can have it come & go a bit, take it as a rest period & try to sleep as much as you can - it could be on & raring to go again ANY time, so you are best off if you sleep as much as you can. It's exhausting.

With both my kids I labored for 72+ hrs straight - but mine never hit apoint where they were less intense & although 1-3.5 is slow progresss, it doesn't mean you aren't in labor. I was at 4 cm for about 18 hrs ish & my contractions never slowed down. I chose to go home because I live close & didn't want to be stuck there on monitors & unable to eat, etc...but I was definitely in labor - just a slow progressing one.

I was having regular contractions 3-5 minutes apart for over a month and was induced at 41 weeks. They weren't strong enough to make me progress and nothing helped me

Hope you're not as unlucky as me!!!!
