How would you answer this?

If you put more into a job than a company is willing to pay you, you are cheating yourself.
Agree or Disagree.
It's on a job application, it seems like a trick question. Lol. On the one hand, yes I do agree with that. If you bust your ass and get little recognition for it, you ARE cheating yourself. But I don't want to seem like I'm not going to work unless they pay me out the ass either. HALP!

I would say I disagree. Just because you're not getting recognition (publicly) doesn't mean that someone hasn't noticed your efforts. You should always perform at your best because there is someone out there who would be willing to do the same job for even less.

Disagree because the more you put into a job the better you come out of it. It might not be financially but you'll come out with more experience.

I can agree and disagree. If you are doing the job of 5 employees and a manager but are only making minimum wage then yes but it doesn't mean you aren't going to work your hardest for the pay you do earn.

This. Always strive for excellence. Even if it's not a monetary gain you can have pride knowing no one can ever come back and accuse you of not giving it your best.

No. Cheating myself would be limiting my potential for the sake of something as trivial as money.

I go by what the Army told me: "Act/work as if someone (important) is always watching"

Company I work for pays as a salary and doing overtime that is not required (just so your work is good/ under control whatever) is frowned upon
