Computer Laptop screen replacement?

posted 4th Jan
Does anyone know how much it would cost to replace ONLY the screen of a laptop computer? Mine is completely cracked and it still turns on but you can't see anything at all. Is it more expensive to replace the screen then to just buy a whole new computer or is it just about the same to buy a new laptop as it would be to replace the screen? I am trying to hurry asap I need it for my classes that start the 14th of this month and the laptop I use now is ancient and is not updated enough and is way to slow for me to use for my class, so answers are apreciated! Thanks!

My suggestion is to call around and ask for prices. Try local shops over the hot shot stores. SO owns his own computer repair business and usually replaces screens for around 200, depending on the computer model because some come with certain screens and the year makes a difference.

Ok I will do that. And would you happen to know if when you buy a computer if places can do payment plans for computers if I can't do the screen thing. I am sort of on a budget and a I may not be able to afford it all at one moment. Thanks for the reply by the way!

Depends on where you buy it. I know you can "Rent to own" laptops at places like Aaron's and Rent a Center. Some local shops may be able to work with you(SO does payment plans so I know some do). Or you can do layaway at a Kmart if you have one in your area.
You're welcome.

I wish I knew more about this all lol. My ancient one was my dads and he left it to me when he passed, then the other was a graduation present last year from my grandmother....so it's safe to say I am new at buying important things   I am going to check into both of these and see which option is better for me, my education is definitely very important to me especially with my little boy making an arrival soon! Me+no education=not so great of a life for my son (imo) butttttt Me+good education= a better life for the ones I love  !
