sex to get things moving?

Today I went for my 38 week checkup. I seen my midwife today & I Still haven't dropped, dilated or effaced. Nothing. While we were talking about it, she told my SO & I that we should start having sex. She said it can help get things going. We've not had sex in atleast a month or so. Of course my SO was happy lol. I guess it's worth a shot to kind of get things moving down there. I just feel so big and uncomfortable.
Have any of you ladies tried sex to help things out, & it work?

I went into labor not long after having sex, but I can't definitely say that's what did it. Idk if I was dilated or any of that since I didn't have checks.

with DD2 i was 1 cm, then next week was 3 cm, that night had sex & woke up to contractions, had her the next morning

was 38.5 weeks btw

I had sex all the way until I left for the hospital with my second(water not broken). Even if it doesnt help its sure as hell fun (at least for me it was). With my first we had sex I climbed off and rolled over and my water broke.

Yep, we did it then I went into labor a few hours later

Lol we've had sooooo much sex this last little while and I'm still not dilated, effaced, or anything. If baby and you're body aren't ready nothings going to help.

Sex sped things up for me when I was already in labour having irregular contractions.

they say sex, cleaning the kitchen floor on your hands and knees, walking a ton are all good ways to help get you going in labor..but then some people say that no matter how much you do if your body isn't ready then you just won't go into labor yet. I think its worth a try. Tho when I get to 38weeks I really can't see myself cleaning the kitchen floor that way.. just saying. lol.

I had Jade at 36 weeks after we had sex 1 morn... I started contracting and bleeding after...

We had sex thru out my last trimester with Maks, I had him day before my due date lol...

Yupp no way in hell you'll find me cleaning my floors like that this far along.... at least the sex is fun lol.

its just what ive herd, but really do you think a woman at 38 weeks would? now im just curious.. :-/ lol.

Well I'm 38 weeks +1 now and I'm telling you if I got down on my hands and knees I'd get stuck there lol.

so why would a midwife or doctor suggest that? lol. forget i suggested it..stick with the other 2..tho i did her one about drinking some kind of oil..but that one im not trying either..caster oil? or something like that..

I also did this the day I went into labor after we had sex.
