I think it's a felony. Is there a reason you want to file a false police report? Maybe wait till you're sober to do anything. I was assaulted in my home by a maintenance man in the beginning of December. The sheriff told me I had 48 hours to file a report. Maybe you could wait till tomorrow morning?

I filed a police report, and apparenlty the only way to get rid of it is to drop charges and then it's like me saying i filed a false report. Or so this dumb whore tells me on the phone

It's only a felony in certain states, and it usually goes by if the false crime reported is a misdemeanor, you get charged as a misdemeanor. If the false crime reported is a felony, you get charged with a felony but that is only in certain ones. In NH it's just a mis.d.

What?! I filed a report on the guy that assaulted me. I was told I didn't have to press charges or could decide to drop the charges at any time. No problems or questions asked. I filed a report but didn't press charges. I was told it was just to get a legal record of the event if you dropped or elected not to press charges.

Yehh..I've never heard of someone being charged for false police reports for dropping charges lol
