1st birthday party??

DS turns 1 on the 28th and I have no idea if to make a family party or something a bit bigger.

We baptized our daughter in June and her birthday was in July so we just made one huge party it was all about her anyways but yes we did go all out i think we spent around 500 but that included everything

Probably no more than 300 dollars his first birthday was special but we didn't go all out we had it at home lots and lots of family came but no we did not go all out and it was totally worth it. His gifts made up for that lol.

I am making all the decorations so maybe 20 from the dollar store. Lol
Food about 60 give or take
outfit I am making a mini mouse Tutu so 6 bucks in material
Presents 100-150
Loot bags for 5 kids (older kids) 7-14 lol
and that's it. So far. Lol

Way cool my son is going to be one on the 27th and I'm so excited! We are having 2 parties cause my family lives 2 hours away..my dad and his wife are paying for the one near them and doing a small thing food and cake thats all and prolly $150...
the party im throwing for him in Maine tho is costing us like $250-300 thats a few balloons and small decorations and food... I'm pretty excited about it, i spent a good amount on his big gift and got him some outfits for summer time (figured everyone else is buying winter stuff)...I"m sooo stoked about it...my how the year has flown by! good luck mama you must be so proud!

Im making the decor myself..doing cupcakes.. I have leftover helium from my other sons birthday, and balloons. Im making banners and pompoms..a couple posters. Im probably spending a hot twenty haha

Not doing anything big, we will have like 6 other people here max. We do family birthdays..close family birthdays.

DS just turned one Dec 29th. I think for everything it was 400-450 including food cake and presents. We made all the food and I made the cake so we saved money that way.
Honestly after going through all the stress of everything I would just do something small with family at home. The turnout wasn't as great as I had hoped even with the recent holidays and I didn't feel all that special about it after everything was said and done. If we had invited people over and had pizza with a homemade cake I think I would have been just as happy if not happier about it because I wouldn't have been so stressed and would have gotten more sleep.

Yes the first birthday is special but I feel like I barely got to spend any time with DS leading up to it because of everything we had to do.
