Blood Clot in uterus?

I had my first OB appointment scheduled for 12/31/12.
Well at work on 12/27/12 i had severe bleeding (like enough to soak through my underwear and yoga pants).
So i went to the ER immediately.
They did blood work and a ultrasound.
The ultrasound didnt show a baby but had a sac. My hormone levels matched the size of the sac so the doctor said things were matching up perfectly. But he said there is a large amount of blood in my uterus and a very large blood clot.
He didnt go into alot of details but he put me on strict bed rest until i had my appointment with my doctor.

I went in for my OB appointment and she did an ultrasound. There were 2 round what looked like sacs. One now had a baby in it with a tiny heartbeat. The other didnt. She said shes not ruling out twins but shes pretty sure its a very large blood clot. This thing was like 5 times bigger than the visual baby. I have to go back monday for another ultrasound. She didnt even give me a due date yet. My LMP was 11/3 and that date isnt matching up with my ultrasound dates so im not sure on a due date.

Has anyone had this issue? Its really scary.

Im on strict bed rest and everything.

This is baby #3 for me but my other pregnancies were perfect with no issues.

Yup. I had them and they are called uterine polyps. I don't think I should go into detail with my experience though... I can but I want you to know that it may worry you a lot.

I had a blood clot in my uterus when I was pregnant with my second child. I bled for about 2 months and my doctor just told me to take it easy and she put me on pelvic rest. They gave me an ultrasound every month to make sure everything was okay with the baby. The blood clot didn't come out until I gave birth, but everything was okay with my daughter.

It started when I had a period and kept bleeding.... and more bleeding. I have ALWAYS had big blood clots and I started to think something was weird even for me. One night I stood up after going pee and almost passed out when I saw a blood clot the size of my hand outstretched. I knew something was seriously wrong.

So we went to the doctor and by that time I ruined so many clothes because I could put a pad on and 30 minutes later was bleeding. I was sleeping with towels under me and doubling up on the thickest pad I could. I was always tired. Id wake up to get Lily ready for school, would then go back to sleep until I had to get her. Id take another nap an hour later. I couldnt breathe well.

I went to my doctor and he literally took one look at me, pressed his thumb at the top of my cheek (like near the under part of your eye) and said "You are severely anemic." Apparently if you press your finger there and pull away and still see the imprint it shows you are very anemic. We did a blood draw and he said he had no idea how I was functioning... I was almost hospitalized I was so anemic. The ONLY reason I wasnt hospitalized is that it can take months to recover from anemia and he knew Id be more comfy from home. So I was under a strict rest and diet regiment.

I also had to have a surgery where they went in through my uterus and took out all the polyps. That was the first surgery Ive had where I was knocked out. I had the mirena placed after to help keep them at bay. HOWEVER now we think the mirena is the cause for my cysts and Ive had surgery for those. So Im hoping once I get the mirena out I dont get the polyps again because I was severely sick. Words can not explain how tired, dehydrated, and run down I was. I did let it go on for too long though ad it took ages to recover.
