At what age/height/weight did you put your child in a booster seat?

My child is tall enough for one now, but since he's only 20 months I don't intend to move him yet. I'll get a high back booster when he outgrows his convertible seat.

My son is 3years old and 45lbs i believe he can use a high back booster now. I dont find them safe just yet. he will stay in a 5 point harness until 65lbs.

I'm aiming to keep DS in a 5 point harness until he's 5, his seat goes to 55 lbs.
I'd never use a non-high back booster, they are being withdrawn from the market here and already have been by Britax.

The min age for a booster is 4 years and 40lbs but you also have to take into consideration if the child is mature enough to sit correctly in it.

Ryan was 6yo, not sure his height/weight. Lauren is still in a 5-pt harness and will be for awhile...she's 5yo, 44" and 43lbs.

my daughter will be 3 next month but she is the size of a 4 year old and she uses a high back booster, her car seat started making places on her neck so i switched her... i just go by the height and weight listed on the car seats and booster seats, i have read that waiting to long to switch them over to a booster seat can be dangerous because of them out growing the height and weight recommended for the car seats, i think its based on how much the straps can hold back but if ur not sure u could try talking to the pediatrician and see what they think

Your child would die if you were in a wreck. Its not about size its about ossification of the hips and spine. That doesnt happen til 4-6 years of aage. Not to kmention its illegal for you to have her in that seat.

We kept Addison rearfacing to 3 years old in a True Fit Convertible, then we turned her forward facing in a Graco Nautilus in the harness. She's 4 years 4 months, 37lbs and 44inches and is still in the harness. I hope to keep her in it until past 5 before I take the harness out of the nautilus and she uses it as a high back booster.

Pediatricians don't know everything and you should always do your own research. You don't have to switch them to a booster when they outgrow one of the limits on a seat, buy a 3 n 1 to keep them in a harness longer. THAT'S whats safer.

that is like what my daughter is in, it converted into a high back booster... i know pediatricians dont know everything but most of them know the local car seat laws and if the child is to large for the car seat before the age the law requires the pediatricians can give a not to keep with you to show that it is ok for the child to be in the booster seat or at least thats how it is in va
