stripping membranes

posted 3rd Jan
I will be 38 weeks Sunday and I was in l&d this past Sunday having contractions 3-4 minutes apart for 5+ hours then they stalled but i still get them every so often but nothing gets stronger and my water is still in tact. I go to the doctor in the morning what's the chances of her stripping my membranes to see if that's going to put me over the edge of early stalled labor? I'm not trying to induce myself but i feel like if it works obviously my body is ready because it never worked when i was pregnant with my son didn't have a single contraction with him and ended up induced for hypertension.. i was 1cm dilated and 60% effaced at hospital nurse said i did have a little change from when i first got there and she rechecked me about 2 hours later didn't say what change it was but not enough to keep me..

All you have to do is ask. I believe 38 weeks is the soonest they will do it.

Stripping membranes don't work... Baby will come when ready.. They can't stay in there forever.

And I stand by it can work if your body is already headed that direction. You know why because it worked for me.
No it doesnt work for everyone but saying it doesn't work is a lie.

Calm your tits. It is false hope. Only guaranteed method of labor is your body naturally letting it happen or being induced. Stripping membranes ain't too much different from your doctor telling you to go home n have sex to induce labor.

My tits are clam but thanks for the concern. I never said it was any different than going home to have sex but it does SOMETIMES work just like sex SOMETIMES works. Again you cannot have false hope.
