This is the diet I follow. It's a little more strict than veganism.

Yep. No root vegetables, no eating at night, no alcohol, I fast on Fridays. I do drink goat milk because it is my goat at my grandparent's place and I know how they are treated.

I wasn't as orthodox when I was pregnant, but I don't cook during my period and Jain women don't cook during pregnancy (I'm orthodox Hindu, but follow a Jain diet because it causes harm to none). I also don't store food over night and if we are having yogurt that day, I make it that morning. I make all of the bread we are going to eat that day in the morning (mainly naan).

I wake up at 5AM to make some food, take a bath, and do puja at sunrise (puja is ritualistic prayer). Then, I get DD up and off to school and then cook when I get home from dropping her off.

If you have any easy bread recipes, naan, if its easy cause i do buy that for my hummus id appreciate it.

My goal to become a habit this year is to wake up at 530 am, and cook breakfast, and thats the stove top so id like to make bread then too.

Look for Almond cheese or Cashew chese. Almond seems a little more rubbery, but I have found some decent cashew cheeses around town. I do use soy sour cream (tofutti or something like that) but I will warn you it tastes NASTY unless you mix it with other spices or foods. I like to make a black bean dip with the sour cream and some salsa. Doesn't taste too terrible. :-)

I like almond products WAY more than soy products.

Also, I've become addicted to humus since going vegan.

I had to switch to non-dairy a few months ago, it hasn't been so bad but it took some research to actually find foods that don't suck. Good luck. If it's any consolation, I lost almost all of my baby weight after switching to non-dairy.

I've had carrots and a few pretzels today, and in starving... but I have gone shopping for vegan foods so I'm hoping I'll be good. Lots of salad and fruit and hummus in my future.

I decided about 10 yrs ago that I wanted to be vegan.. it lasted about 2 days and I figured out almost everything has eggs, milk, cheese

and that I loved cheese and couldn't do without

so I went vegetarian instead and have been since

maybe post on petas FB page and ask for recipes or tips I'm sure they'll help!
