Dang how do toy manage zero housing cost?

I am currently transitioning into a new job and have been calculating how much I can spend on a new place. Make sure you have plenty of cushioning/

We make between $6000-$8000 a month depending on overtime and bonuses. Out mortgage at the moment is around $1500 a month and utilities about another $800 on top of that.

DH brings in about $4,500 a month and we pay $818 in mortgage and about $259 in utilities

Our house is paid off

edit: we of course have to pay for upkeep and stuff but we dont have mortgage payment/have to pay rent

Geeze some of these incomes and costs of living are crazy high lol I live in rural Minnesota. I've just been seeing a lot of great deals on houses lately like 80000 for a nice house. I have no idea what sort of job ill get but I think I should at least be able to get something making like a couple thousand a month

Of course. I mean I do not spend money month to month on rent etc... I have property tax bills, have to spend money on its upkeep etc...

yup. ours is crazy high.

What are average utility costs in small houses? We've always lived in a duplex where all utilities were just paid with rent to the landlord so i don't even know lol

Haha yeah! We live off his commission! The more tickets/packages he sells the better
