re: Sign-Shaming as Punishment

Not my style at all.

My parents shamed me for everything, even minor things. It didn't teach me anything, but it sure made me feel worthless as a person. I made mistakes. I STILL make mistakes. I'm pretty sure my son will make many mistakes. So is life. I'm not going to make him feel like the worst person to walk the planet for having a lapse in judgment as a child.

I actually laughed at the last one. Call me an smurf.

But, it really isn't my style. My step mother would post things on my MySpace until I just removed her my friends list. My friends just began thinking she was bat smurf.

Tony hated, HATED going to sleepovers and such because he wet the bed for so long. Sucked his thumb a long time too. I did too, I sucked my thumb until I got so much crap and my friends said "That blister isnt from hurting yourself its from sucking your thumb!" So I know how he feels.

I'm not laughing that the boy pissed the bed, if it is even true. I'm just laughing that his mother called him out on being a dick. We all have embarrassing things that have happened to us. I mean, hell I pissed the bed when I was 16. Not until, but I was having a dream that I was on the pot and I just let it go. Like I said, sign shaming and such isn't my style. I would have talked to my son about his actions, how it is wrong, and people often never forget the negative things they hear about people. If it continued I'd probably threaten to tell his friends or make little hints around his friends just to see him squirm. But, I'm an smurf like that.
