my second son was born at 37 weeks and he was 6 12oz and my third son was born at 35 weeks and he was 7 7oz

My LO was born at 37+3 days (ultrasound dates)
& 38 weeks even & he was 8 lbs 3 oz (3700 grams) 50 cm long :-)

Ds2 - 37 weeks 6lbs 5oz. He spent a few hours in the NICU for evaluation (suspected IUGR baby)

Ds3- Also 37 weeks (they think I might have been earlier) 4 days in the NICU for oxygen support and feeding issues 10lbs 5oz

Most responsible dr's won't induce at 36 or 37 weeks without an amnio and some major medical problems. Then if the lungs aren't mature, they push back induction date by another week with extra U/S for monitoring. Obviously if the baby's life is in immediate danger, they get them out. I have issues all over the place with all of my pregnancies (type 1 diabetes, PTL and cervix issues). Even when my son was suspected to be IUGR (U/S estimated weight of about 4.5lbs at 37 weeks.. obviously it was wrong), they didn't induce until 37 weeks and that was with an amnio.

I didnt have an amnio with my induction at 36+3. I was alreasy 5 cm and having consistant contractions.

37 +5 DS was 5lbs 8oz

DD was born at 36 weeks and 3 days. She was 7 pounds 15 ounces and 21 1/4 inches long.

I was induced at 37w without an amnio - though I offered to have one done.

It sounds like you were already in labor. Would you want to be a dr with a huge needle trying to stick a woman in the stomach who's having contractions? lol I was not in labor and wasn't going in to labor on my own. I dilate to 2 to 3cm's but because of the scar tissue on my cervix from the cerclages, i don't dilate without pitocin past that point.
