Would you ever...

Disown your child..for dating outside of his/her race?

Personally I think its crazy. Even though my children are only 2 and 6-months respectively..I would love it if they stayed within their own ethnicity..but I wouldn't DISOWN them for not doing that. What are your views?!

I will be happy with whoever my child dates. Black, white, yellow, green, blue. I dont care. As long as they are happy and the person they are with treats them great! Shot, she could be lesbo. I hope that she will not be, but hey whatever.

i would never do that but then again me and my partner are from different race's.neither my parents nor my grandparents have never dissapproved they see what a fantastic guy he is at the end of the day. i don't care who my kids date as long as they are happy

My baby is going to be mixed (polish and mexican+cuban) so disowning him for dating out of his race would just be stupid

None of my kids are dating ever lol joke...I would never disown my child over who they dated i know how much it hurts to have someone disown you just because of your partner my mum did it to me so yea

Well I live in Kentucky..(enough said)and there is this guy at work..and he was dating another employee..they had been dating umm maybe 4 years. Well her parents never could except the fact that he was black. And in December they said if she didn't stop dating him..they would NEVER have anything else to do with her. I think thats absurd! So I was wondering if anyone else would do that..just strictly based upon race.

I would not disown.

But I was brought up in a home where it was not allowed. But, I never was really attracted much to another race, so it wasn't a problem.

See that's my problem I don't like white guys for some reason I've never been attracted to any. My grandma wouldn't allow her kids to date out of their race but my mom wasn't ever strict about it because she just wants us all to be happy! And my whole family, surprisingly, loves my boyfriend

I would never disown...my husband might. He was raised in pittsburgh PA! But i think thats a horrible thing to do.

From my understanding..theres a ton of diversity in England..so I guess its easier there. JMO though..i'm probably wrong though.

My Mother was only strict with me. My brothers..and older sisters were allowed to date whomever they wanted.

I would never disown my child no matter what he did. I might think he deserved the punishment if he did something horrible, but I'm still his mother. Everyone deserves a chance to be happy, and the heart wants who it wants half the time you can';t control that. So no I wouldn't. I mean hell if he turns out to be gay and brings home a different race boyfriend, that's about as shocking as you could get...but as long as the boyfriend treated him well I would be fine. It would take some time to adjust, but I'd eventually be fine. I seriously don't understand the huge thing on race anyway. Shit. It's hard enough to find someone you can be happy with without bringing race or anything else into it.
