Could you coach 3 and 4 year olds?

posted 3rd Jan
We signed our 3 yo LO up for basketball and it's supposed to start next week. We just got the first email from the guy and it said that our LO's team doesn't have a coach. DH would do it but he works every weekend and the games are on Saturday's. I really don't want to do it and don't think I'd even do a good job, but I mean, they're 4 years old, lol, it's not competitive at this point. Do you think you could/would coach if it was the only way your LO would get to participate? We also didn't want to coach because we wanted our LO to understand the concept of a "coach" and thought it would be better if there was a different adult, you know.

That age doesn't even have the ability to work as a team so :coaching" would be just trying to make sure the kids don't fight over the ball or wander away from the rest of the team.   I wouldn't coach it because I'd get frustrated that they're more interested in what the other members are wearing or doing than playing the
game.

When my daughter played soccer at 4 years old, they had the high school students coaching them and just taught them very basic rules about the game. It was hilarious to watch.

I'm super excited to watch him try to play! I will be very dissapointed if they can't get a coach.
