Chances?

IDK how to word this properly but here it goes the best way I can. What are the chances of my LO being born premature even tho they said he was term (40 w 1d) according to my LMP. I had a period in Oct '11 and again in Jan '12 bled from beginning of March till end of April found out I was pregnant April 15 '12 they really didn't measure him that well but when they did they entered my LMP and went by that. in ultrasounds he always measured small like 10percentile small. I had the steroid shot at 33 w 6 d. he was born 6lb 13ozs 20.5 in long. he is now almost 3 months and he's 8lbs 11ozs 21.5 in long. they've ran tests to see why he's not growing and everything is normal. So like the question stated what are the chances that he is actually premie but was born at what they thought was term?

I really don't think it would've been off enough for the baby to be a premie. That's kinda a long shot. A few weeks maybe, but the baby would still be term.

I was just wondering maybe he was only like 36 weeks when he was born? I had an ultrasound at 36 weeks and he was less than 4 lbs when "normal" babies are between 5-7 lbs and he was like 9th percentile

Even if your due date was off by a couple weeks 38 weeks isn't considered premature. If you did have a premature baby surly they would have caught on to it by now.

already went and posted that mine was showing up like that. someone else also posted the link to my post to try and get it fixed where it doesn't show up like this anymore.it's frustrating

My daughter was born at 35 weeks and weighed 4lbs 10oz and they said that it was normal...

he also scored kind of low on the apgar.

Was the baby diagnosed with failure to thrive? Maybe he's just small. It took my godson a while before he gained a good amount of weight

His dr tried to diagnose him as failure to thrive but the childrens hospital said that there is nothing wrong with him. we were there for a week since he dropped off the charts. at his 2 month check up.

He's probably fine then. Is he breastfed?

no formula fed......he is also partially delayed. he doesnt lift his head when he's on his belly dr said it might be because he isn't gaining weight so he doesn't have much muscle strength
