pectus excavatum and low hemoglobin in 4 yo?
posted 3rd Jan
4 yo DD had her physical and her hemoglobin came back low...going tomorrow for full blood draw. Also she has an appointment with Shriners that I am waiting for referral for. She has Pectus Excavatum that has been getting worse recently. Along with getting pale and tired at the same time various times throughout the day...anyone have any insight?

My son has pectus excavatum, but from what I've been told, in the majority of cases it gets worse with growth spurts but in most kids isn't a real issue. It can cause breathing in heart issues in a small number of kids though and is more cosmetic than anything.

Thanks
Last I heard from her bio-dad, he was having heart trouble possibly from his PE...I have decided not to use Google and not to worry too much until I speak to doctors...She also has a bad immune system in that she is allergic to so many things so I usually tend to be very careful and worried about her...Was hoping to find real people with real experience and knowledge to talk with

What ever happened with her? I have this condition and am 22 yrs old. I've never had issues or surgery from it. I had a small heart murmur as a baby and that's it.
