Yeah...things like that I remember from years ago when I was enlisting...we figured they carried over branch to branch, and his recruiter confirmed that. I have no clue what the Marine equivalent of AIT is though

Me either.   I know very little about any other branch, hell, I don't even know that much about the Army. I try to avoid all the military mumble jumble.

haha I'm pretty well-versed in Army. I enlisted when I was 17, my Dad was a Ranger and two tour Viet Nam vet, my Grandpa was also a two tour Viet Nam vet, drill instructor, and jump school instructor....there's NO avoiding it in our family. I remember when I was old enough to realize that not everyone did their grocery shopping at the commisary...it shocked me. That was just what was done lmao.

Other branches though? Not really. My best friend's boyfriend is in the Navy and listening to him talk is like, what the smurf? lol

My step dad was Air Force and he retired before I was in school, so yeah.. nope, nothing for me.   It's probably why all the military wives hate me. hahahhaa.

No kidding.

We're moving on post as soon as Seth is back and I'm kinda, sorta already dreading it. LOL. But I know it'll save him so much gas money instead of commuting from Manhattan to Ft Riley like he had been!

Oh, for sure. Manhattan's not THAT far, but to make that commute to work and back...it adds up quick.

Especially when he insists on driving a f150 that gets an awesome 10mpg.   And right before he deployed there was so much construction going on, it took him an hour + to get to work and then 2 hours after during the rush hour. It was insane!

I figure it'll be easier for me to commute to Manhattan (IF I go back working for their school district) since my car gets better gas mileage and I wouldn't be driving at peak hours.

Oh, I know what you mean! We traded our first F150 in for a saturn vue (WORST VEHICLE EVER!) and instantly regretted it. Seth is totally a "truck driving" type of guy, so we finally got rid of that dumb thing and got him back into an F150.

And yeah, I filled up today at $3.05. I'm crossing my fingers it goes down again.. though I'm not too hopeful.

Yeah...Chris has like, this little S10 thing. He really wants to go get a Dodge Ram 1500....sooo not a great decision lmao. I hate his little truck, but he really only drives it to work...if he's got to have his truck, it's a good commuter. Not like we could fit ALL the carseats into even a 1500 come July..if we're getting a new vehicle, it'll be to replace the family vehicle, not the commuter lol

He keeps bringing up a minivan....I hate to admit this after dogging trucks for their gas milage, but I'm thinking more like a suburban? I can't see myself being happy in a minivan.

I would definitely go for an SUV before a minivan.

Glad I'm not the only one. My first thought was that I'm not OLD ENOUGH to have a minivan lmfao
