Idk how it works. I know they do for micro preemies but idk about almost term babies. She didn't say. I guess I could ask that next. I hopefully still have time. I can't imagine I wouldn't have enough though. I mean I'm already leaking and I'm sure if I tried now (obviously wont) I could get at least enough from hand expressing for her first feed (which I was told would only be like a tsp).

Just don't give up and I'm sure you'll be fine. It would be crazy expensive, or I'd offer to ship you some of mine if you needed it. But if it came to that, it would be easier for you to find someone closer.

My son was born by emergency c-section and i was knocked out. i didn't see him until 8 hours after he was born and didn't get to hold him for 2 weeks (he was a micro preemie). I just pumped as frequently as i could tolerate.

I had an emergency csection and had an awful recovery. I didnt get to see or hold my baby till he was 6 hours old and he breast feeds just fine. We had some issues with spitting up early on but he over came that just fine. I pump in the middle of the night and if I am having a hard time I just looked at pictures of my lo

You might be surprised. Yes you'll have to pump primarily, but they normally start working on breastfeeding pretty early. Normally around when they're suck/swallow reflex kicks in (around 32 weeks) Since you're already 33 weeks, they'll probably have you try it out (assuming she's not on oxygen) pretty soon after delivery.

I read some of the replies and I see a lot of people said they were still able to eb even after separated. My baby and I were never separated. He was born at 9:23pm and we didn't send him to even get his bath until 1:30am. I was never able to breastfeed. He was born at 36+2 and just refused to latch properly. I pump for him and sometimes when we have a bottle warming up I will put him to breast, but he just makes disgusted faces, pushes it away, and screams.

Have you tried a nipple shield? That's what I had to use because his mouth was so small.

I agree with this. You can even just use a bottle nipple over your nipple. Then as he gets use to it, you just swap your boob for the bottle nipple.

Yep!
Or you can contact your local NICU or the one he was born at and ask if they can give you a few sizes to try.
I got several in different sizes because I didn't know which would work best.
