I had a nurse call to get a nicu staff member down here to create a care plan for her since I may not be there to advocate for her care. That way nothing goes on I'm not aware of. Everyone keeps telling me it'll be ok they won't but idk the team up there and it's hard to trust someone you don't know. And Sam is easily pressured by drs Ifthey say it's best even when it's not so he's not as good of an advocate as I would be. I want to trust them but it's hard. This is MY precious child.

I completely understand. Especially with all the horror stories we see here.

Makes sense to me too. By the time my youngest ended in the NICU, i had been going to that hospital for years. I knew all of the nurses and dr's and they recognize me on sight. I spent weeks there. All 5 of my pregnancies were in the past 5.5 years or so. There was a week stay with my first baby and a couple days here and there with the rest of them. Surgeries and deliveries and blah blah blah. The point being, I'd trust them more with my kids than my parents. Sad but true.

Gah tell me about it. I have enough trauma with this preg. I don't wanna start her life with bad memories and trauma too.

That's awesome that you knew the team. The ob nurses all seem to reassure me they won't do anything without my permission. But I just don't trust them since idk them. I don't want them to have a misunderstanding and think I'm bottle feeding or skmething and just give her one. idk how they know what my plans are.

Are you in the hospital now, or not yet? I'd start familiarizing yourself with the staff as much as possible.

I second this. It should also progress naturally too, but I remember the first time around having several meetings with the NICU discussing what would be going on and how they would handle things. Have you taken a tour of the NICU yet? They might be able to schedule one for you.

Yeah I am. I'm familiarized with the ob nurses and stuff. But I can't go to the nicu cause it's winter and they're germ nazis. No visitors unless u have a child or grandchild in there. And the one nicu dr that came I wasn't fond of. She said they're pro Bfing but she wasn't reassuring me that they wouldn't give her formula. She just questioned why I didn't want her to have it. Because I don't bitch. She's my kid haha. That's why. Geeze. It's not the devil and I don't look down on people for using it but it's not for my children. Sorry. that's my personal choice. Just like CIO isn't for everyone or baby food isn't for everyone. It's just my parenting choice.

Lol you crack me up sometimes. I would just make sure you husband knows to stand his ground and not allow formula without talking to you first, so they don't push him into it(if it even comes to that)

I just talked to the nicu manager and she said before they supplement they'd call down to me to see if I had milk for her. And if I don't they'd decide what to do.

If you don't have enough, do they have a milk bank around there?
