Quoting Dude, you Fugly!:" Subject line basically says it all. How much do you and or SO bring home monthly? What do you/him do? ... [snip!] ... basically go do whatever we want? I know this is a personal question, but just curious what's "comfortable living" to others. "

With all of our income, we bring in about 3500 a month. He's does plastering, painting, drywall, etc. I stay at home and go to school.
We live okay. My bills aren't behind and we have everything we need.

Our monthly income sounds higher than it feels (partly because of the COL in coastal CA). our bills total about 5k dollars/ month (including a medical and a business debt we are making payments on)...
We try to budget a few hundred in a month for "leisure", probably about $500 worth, give or take a few hundred depending on the month.

We bring in MAYBE 3500 a month together. Rent is only $575, but all our other bills add up to a lot lol. My car payment is 300 a month, his truck payment is like 450 or so a month, plus utilities, cilco, food, diapers, wipes, formula, and a other bills. We kind of struggle to pay bills, but always make it. We definitely live paycheck to paycheck. I am going to school, but only for my associates in criminal justice. I am halfway through that so hopefully after that I will be able to get a better paying job. SO refuses to go to school for anything..he keeps saying how "when we make good money we can get ______ and _____" and so on. He is convinced that he will move up in his job and all that..which I want to believe, but you never know what will happen. He is great at his job and all that, but I think it would take a long time to move up at all. Also I am a security officer and he works in a warehouse for Frito Lay

My husband is the only one working and averages $4000 a month. Sometimes more if he gets a bonus that month. He's a firefighter and works (9) 24 hour shifts a month. We live comfortably but don't have a ton extra since we just got a new car. $1300 for mortgage payment, plus all other bills. We do own a pretty decent sized house though.. (lots of land)

Did you two get married? I missed it if so

I bring in not very much. I won't say where my money comes from but we are making it. I do live with my parents so I don't pay rent or utilities. But all of our expenses I pay.

I bring home 2,400/ month. I'm a caseworker for the welfare department. My husband, when he decides to work, makes anywhere from 2k/ month on a lazy month to 6k/ month he is core adjunct faculty for a university and owns a business selling coins. We own our home outright, own three cars outright, we live comfortably. Have quite a bit in savings, and don't do the whole paycheck to paycheck thing.

We bring in around $6000 a month. Mortgage is about $1500 a month and other bills are (temporarily) quite high as we try and catch up from a stint of unemployment. At the moment we're living paycheck to paycheck, though we should be completely ahead and saving by the end of the month. We both work IT tech support in a call centre.
