unprotected sex and breastfeeding

i had my little one november the 8 and shes almost 8 weeks old we are breastfeeding and pumping . I have yet to start my period i was stupid and let my boyfriend finish inside. I go for birthcontrol on the 16. what are the chances if i have yet to get a period to get pregant?

The same as any other time you have unprotected sex.

It's very possible. Chances actually increase since you are very fertile after having baby.

You can only get pregnant if you ovulate and it is very unlikely that she has ovulated.

However, pumping might decrease the effectiveness of LAM.

Well the chances are much less since you most likely aren't ovulating yet, but there is still a chance because every woman's body is different.

While I am fascinated by the research done on LAM, I was not brave enough to rely on it as my method of birth control, the idea of becoming pregnant so soon was terrifying to me.

OP, if you decide to get the morning after pill (or whatever it is called now), make sure to find out how it might affect your breastmilk.

They give you a test before they put you on birth control.

I really doubt you are pregnant, try not to dwell on it too much (I know, easier said then done). Once it's been about two weeks (or a little more), take a test to ease your mind.
