Yea, clearly all of you need to update your research ;)

Oh yes, if you were so worried about doing all of that then you wouldn't be on here in the first place trying to debate your ignorant assumptions. Good try though.

This.

It's worth quitting I'd rather be caught, and clean. Then caught and dirty. At least I'd have something to back me up. Just honestly it's not the drug that would make you selfish it's not really a drug at all. It's the idea of getting yourself in trouble and DCF involved over something that's normal that we all deal with that would kind of be selfish.

Okay so you can't quit smoking pot for the well being of your child. I don't care if you can't sleep or eat. Most pregnant women go through that. I personally think that is a selfish act. Especially considering that I did smoke weed and I shot meth. I gave them both up for the better of my child. I did not wait till I was so far along. I quit when I thought I was pregnant. Not even having the pregnancy verified. I gave up a selfish act to help my baby be the best he possibly could. And I personally hope that you do get clean because to even smoke while pregnant is a huge downfall and to think that you are getting your baby high yea thats cool. No good mom could sit there and do any drug for any reason. You can't eat or sleep tell your doctor they can help.

First of all, the baby doesn't get high. Second of all, it's not selfish to use pot to help with pregnancy symptoms that are actually negatively affecting your health AND the baby's health. It's better than ANY drug your doctor will prescribe you. Have you ever read the side effects on those?

no because my kids do actually sleep during their naps leaving me a little time here and there to point out people such as yourself false "facts/ideals". and its not ignorant when its a fact. Everything the mother inhales, smokes, eats, drinks, shoots up, etc goes to the baby at least a little. It may not have a direct affect on the baby but you never know for sure because EVERY pregnancy is different. That's why some women who have only one drink have babies with FAS (fetal alcohol syndrome) and some women who drink like a fish their whole pregnancy have babies that are normal. If you wouldn't give it to your newborn then you shouldn't have it or do it when your pregnant. Period.

I am pregnant with my 3rd child, I smoked for the 1st 2 trimesters with my first child and for the first trimester of my second pregnancy as well as this one. Both of my children are completely fine and actually more advanced than alot of children and i'm pretty sure this one will be too. My 10 month old has been walking for almost a month now she says about 6 different words and is very bright. My 20 month old can say at least 8 complete sentences knows about 4 shapes 4 colors can tell you 5 different animals along with what sounds they make and much much more. Both children were healthy at birth and have been healthy since except maybe an occasional cold. I do not feel from my experience that smoking weed causes harm to the children however I do feel it is selfish. I understand that it is very hard to quit because like I said earlier I had a rough time quitting myself. I am 20 weeks pregnant this time and have only gained 3 pounds to date because I cannot eat but I know from ultrasounds and doctor visits that my baby is healthy and that is the most important thing. Whatever you chose is just that your choice, poeple will always judge you but in the end that baby is the most important person in your life just try and do whats best for your little love bug.

Babies can be born addicted to Tylenol and suffer terrible withdrawl from it.

Yep.
I did a lot of research on marijuana use in pregnancy in the first trimester when my HG was horrible and ran across an article that cited some research regarding the perinatal use of Tylenol. Then when I started getting migraines, I was taking the max dose of Tylenol daily and both my OB and perinatologist warned me that the baby could be born addicted and suffer through withdrawl comparable to heroin and nicotine withdrawl. I was floored. I NEVER in a million years would have ever thought that Tylenol, of all medications, could have that effect.

I think it happens in women who take higher doses on a daily basis. It's still a scary thought regardless. The knowledge is also a formidable weapon in these debates, lol.

Like my doctor told me to take tylenol.
I only take it like if I have a really bad head ache or at night sometimes it helps me sleep (Like getting comfortable) and I take it with benydril (Like tylenol PM) But every other day I try to space it out for paranoid reasons lol. Kind of like this. Weird. I know tylenol 3 could it's got codeine in it, and is safe for pregnancy, but tylenol alone? I never knew that could cause issues. Strange.

i've actually done research on the subject and some DOCTORS prescribe(sp?) pot where it's legal FOR pregnant women,

I forgotmto add that after a lot more research, acetaminophen/paracetamol is actually known to have a rebound effect when you stop taking it after taking it for a period of time. The most commonly reported symptoms are headaches, vision disturbances and stomach issues.

Makes me even more pro-marijuana, haha.

I'm pro weed I am. And it is given to women where it's legal. My issues with OP in this post, were more towards since it's NOT legal. Why risk getting DCF involved the very day your child is born. Because where she is, it isn't legal. Smurf if it were legal I would probably smoke it for sickness too. But PEOPLE cause problems, not weed. Go smoke (Vape eat it actually) but honestly it's still illegal whether viewed as a drug or not and will cause problems if found in baby's system... That was my argument and really the only argument that should be made. Weed doesn't cause issues for fetal growth.
