How Many?

posted 3rd Jan
About how many outfits should I have for baby in newborn size? I have around 10 onesies (most long sleeved), two sleepers and a long sleeved onesie with pants outfit. A friend of ours gave us a bag of baby clothes butt most of them are 0-3 and 3-6. I'm not too sure how many more newborn items I need to get over the next 8 weeks...

ETA-
I know I need socks and all that.

10 onesies in newborn size is plenty. You should get a few pairs of pants to go with the onesies though

my rule is to ussually have at least enough cloths for two weeks even if you do laundry couple days a week because you would be suprised how much cloths they go through with the spit up and poop etc.

What about sleepers? Should I grab a few more of those for when we go out?

I would. I have DD wear sleepers for bed so I have about 6 of them.

Well, I'm almost there then. Hehe.
Figuring everything out is so much harder this time around. My first two had mountains of clothes before they were born because friends and family were giving me their kids' stuff. This time around I'm starting from the bottom, haha. I'm just so worried we won't be ready.

you will be ready trust me! Mommy instinct will kick in and anything you missed before she is born, you will remember after you had her.

You definitely need to buy pants for the onesies and you need atleast 6 pjs. My son just grew out of newborn and I only bought 4 outfits and 4 pjs for him and needless to say I bought about 8 more outfits and about 6 more pjs when I got home because sometimes he goes through two or three pjs in one night from spitup or sweat or pee etc. You want to have enough because you do not want to have to keep washing each outfit every day. Also, you do not want to have a dirty pj and no clean one for your little one. Go to a thrift store or a once upon a child they have outfits and pjs for like two dollars.

I'm going to check out Once Upon a Child next week. I just found out where they are at here. We don't have a washer and dryer so washing things daily isn't really an option. Thanks so much ladies. It's amazing how much you forget...

My third was in newborns for almost 3 months (11 weeks), born full term (39+6) weighed 8lbs 5oz art birth so I'd personally get 10-20 of everything (onesies/pants/sleepers/etc) just to be safe.
