posted 3rd Jan
I got a cough over Christmas.while staying with my aister and it's still not gone. It sometimes makes my chest/lungs.hurt. This happens every time I.stay.there and I dont know why. I.cant afford a doctor or take cold medicine. What.could be causing this?

Mold, smoke in the house.

My best guess is mold tho. I was getting sick and coughs for years everytime I went to my friends for a few days, then we found out behind her walls it was full of mold.

It could make it worse, or even start.
I would just go to the dr, and tell him/her that everytime you go, you get sick like this, and see if it could be mold related, its a guess, and may not be accurate at all.
But some of the worse kinds of mold hide behind the walls and are unseen. Is it musty there, like in a certain room (basements/bathroom)? or it could just be really dry or damp there and your just not used to it. Many things. I wouldnt stress to much over it tho. Just bring it up with the dr and see what symptoms of illness and coughs are linked to mold being inhaled or touched etc...

Oh yes, the states Dr bills. That sucks. So everytime you make an appointment you have to pay? I would so hate that.

Even for urgent care I think is what its called in the states. Ummm I dont know then.

Yep. LO and I never go to the doctor. DH does sometimes since he makes the money. Doctors are for sick and rich people. We can't even.afford the insurance we were offered. It was $300/month for the three ofn us and only covered one checkup/physical per persin/hear and then everything else was out if pocket until you met the $8000 family deductible.

Thats super smurffy. I take our little bit of wait time and lack of dr's over the cost of seeing a dr, any day. I mean if I cant see the Dr right away, I just go to the walk in clinic, sure I may have to wait in the waiting area but you do at the family dr as well. We only pay if you need a dr's note for work or something and its 20.00 from some places and only 10.00 at others.

Visits are all covered, and most prescriptions are all covered too, if you do generic brands or have benefits through work.

Like it was 1800 for my dd's aspergers evaluation (done privately) but work covers it under the plan, and covers up to 2000, I just have to pay up fron, then I get it back in 1-3 months time.
